I’ve always been interested in photography and cinematography and working on the intersection of artistic disciplines. That’s why +Armand Dijcks and I have decided to teach a workshop focused on Architectural long exposure and time lapse video in the architectural hotspot of Europe: Rotterdam.
Date: Somewhere in October, final dates to be announced soon. If you’re interested in this workshop and want to be one of the frontrunners in exploring the future of fine art photography and cinematography then keep an eye on this space or follow our +Architecture in Motion Workshop Google+ page.
Pre-announcement
Architecture in motion, Architectural long exposure and time lapse workshop, Rotterdam
International Award winning photograper +Joel Tjintjelaar and cinematographer +Armand Dijcks join forces for an inspirational workshop experience
at the intersection of long exposure photography and cinematography. The workshop will take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, one of the architecture hotspots of Europe.
Architectural long exposure photography can be quite challenging, from the technical aspects to the artistic vision. Joel will demonstrate how to bend reality
and create amazing architectural images using long exposure techniques. He will cover not only the technical part of how to set up your shot,
but also how creative post processing can be used to express your artistic vision. After this session you will look at the world around you with new eyes,
and you’ll know how to translate it into engaging images, based on your own creative vision.
As Joel says: “A camera is just a piece of hardware with no mind, no soul, no artistry, just an object that records a situation, unbiased and emotionless.
I’m not interested in the vision of a piece of hardware, I’m only interested in the vision of the artist with a mind and soul, who will alter the image to his reality.
It’s the difference between photography and art”
But why limit yourself to still images? Cinematographer Armand Dijcks will introduce you to the art of creating moving images, starting from the things you already know as
a photographer. Among other things, Armand will give you a glimpse behind the scenes of his long exposure time lapse techniques, which transform reality into mind-bending visuals.
See the video below for an example. During the workshop you will have a chance to try out these techniques for yourself.
