Nik Software just released the Snapseed for iPad. Downloaded it immediately and have to admit I was a bit sceptic first. How could an iPad app that costs less than $ 5, even though it’s one from NIK Software that produces my favorite B&W tool Silver Efex Pro 2,  be of any use for a Black and White fine-art photographer?

Well I was wrong. I’ve been playing around with it and I love how they integrated the functionality that I know from SIlver Efex Pro 2 and Color Efex Pro into this small and cheap app. The results are unexpectedly good for such an app! I think I will use this just to see some quick B&W conversions while I’m out shooting in the field.

I will post some Snapseed converted images later on here.
